Special Olympics

Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that provides athletic training programs and competitions in Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Their programs are for all ages and abilities. Special Olympics offers sports programs for people with intellectual disabilities. This years special Olympics is being hosted in the Woodstock, NB on July 17th to July 20th, 2025. (Special Olympics, n.d.). https://www.specialolympicsnb.ca/fr/coordonnees

Best Buddies

Best Buddies Is a school program that helps create lasting friendships between individuals with and without an intellectual or developmental disability. Their goal is to promote inclusion, acceptance, and friendship in every school and community across Canada. Their mission is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their vision is to help limit loneliness and isolation and create independence, and confidence through friendships.  Applications are open for 2024- 2025.  Adult Day Program 

Is a program that Opal Family Services offers for educational as well as a social/recreational for adults/younger individuals with disabilities. 

The 2024/2025 program schedule is Thursday evenings from 6 to 8pm
